Chapada copper-gold mine will resume full production
Lundin Mining announced on Monday that its Chapada copper-gold mine in northern Brazil will resume full production.
In September, the company withdrew its guidance on Chapada’s 2020 production, cash costs and capital expenditures after a power outage caused all four SAG and ball mill motors of the company to be damaged.

Lundin said in a press release: "After installing the remaining repaired motors on the ball mill on December 20, 2020, full processing capacity was restored."
"The processing plant achieved about 35% of the capacity on the nameplate with only the SAG mill running. In mid-November, a motor was installed on the ball mill, which further increased the output."
The production of copper and gold has reached the lower limit of the 2020 guidance range, namely 45,000 to 50,000 tons of copper and 80,000 to 85,000 ounces of gold.
Lundin said: "Chapada is ready to provide guidance for 2021, and use this opportunity to speed up maintenance, establish mine ore reserves, and promote waste removal and development activities."
