The strike of aluminum factory workers will affect the aluminum can industry
According to foreign media reports, about 400 workers at Kenlian Aluminum's aluminum plant in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, went on strike due to improper labor practices and objections to the medical insurance bill.
According to the official website of Kenlian Aluminum, the factory has more than 1,200 employees and mainly produces aluminum sheets for packaging (such as beverage containers, etc.).
The plant has an annual recycling capacity of about 20 billion cans. With the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, more and more people choose to eat at home, and beverage companies also tend to replace plastic bottle packaging with aluminum cans. Therefore, the global beverage cans have been in short supply since this year.
